Known for his razor-sharp linework, bold color palette, and fierce dedication to American Traditional tattooing, Oliver’s work is instantly iconic—true to the roots, yet forever influential.

Born and raised in Texas, Oliver began tattooing professionally in the early 1990s and quickly built a reputation for his unmatched work ethic and deep respect for tattoo heritage. He co-founded Elm Street Tattoo in Dallas, home to the world-famous Friday the 13th marathon tattoo events, and later opened True Tattoo in Los Angeles, both of which have become meccas for traditional tattoo lovers.

Oliver’s influence reached a global audience as a judge on the hit television series Ink Master, where his tough-love critiques, encyclopedic knowledge, and commitment to authenticity made him a standout personality and mentor to countless up-and-coming artists.

He also holds a Guinness World Record for most tattoos done in 24 hours—demonstrating not only his speed and stamina, but his relentless dedication to the craft.

Jimmy Snaz

Jimmy Snaz, born James Mackenzie in Boston, Massachusetts, is a celebrated tattoo artist known for his bold, graphic, and instantly recognizable style. He gained national attention through his appearances on Ink Master Seasons 11 and 13, where he showcased his versatility and commitment to the craft. In Season 13, Ink Master: Turf War, Jimmy advanced to the finals. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the live finale was canceled, and no official winner was announced. Nevertheless, Jimmy’s performance earned him a share of the prize among the top three finalists.

Beyond television, Jimmy is the founder and creative force behind North Street Salem, a tattoo studio in Salem, Massachusetts. With nearly 15 years of experience, he has cultivated a space where like-minded artists and clients can thrive. His work, influenced by various styles, emphasizes boldness and readability, making his tattoos stand out. Jordi Alejandro Pla is a powerhouse in the tattoo world, renowned for his hyper-vibrant color realism and high-contrast compositions. As co-owner and lead artist at Black Flamingo Collective in Bethesda, Maryland, Jordi combines studio leadership with ongoing mentorship, fostering a creative environment where color realism, illustrative work, and bold, graphic styles thrive .

Laura Marie

Laura Marie, a tattoo artist from Geneseo, New York, rose to prominence after winning Season 12 of Ink Master, titled “Battle of the Sexes,” in 2019. As the second female winner in the show’s history, she captivated judges with her masterful traditional Japanese backpiece depicting Raijin, the Japanese god of thunder. Her victory earned her a $100,000 prize and a feature in Inked magazine . Before her television success, Laura pursued studies in animation and game design at the Rochester Institute of Technology but found her true calling in tattooing. Cleen Rock One, is a renowned tattoo artist celebrated for his bold neo-traditional and new school designs. Elton “LT” Duarte is a bold, visionary tattoo artist based in East Providence, Rhode Island, and the founder of One With The Arts (OWTA) — a creative studio dedicated to the fusion of art, culture, and connection. With a style deeply rooted in visual storytelling, LT’s tattoos are known for their expressive detail, clean execution, and meaningful impact.

He rose to national recognition through his appearance on Ink Master, bringing his East Coast grit and artistic authenticity to the screen. Buddy Mott Museum

Carlton “Buddy” Mott (1924–2014) was more than a tattoo artist — he was a pioneer, craftsman, and storyteller whose work helped shape the culture of American tattooing. A proud WWII veteran and self-taught artist, Buddy blended the skills of an engraver, sign-painter, carver, and painter into a tattooing style that was bold, timeless, and unmistakably his own.

In 1948, Buddy opened Buddy’s Tattoo Shop in Newport, Rhode Island. For nearly six decades, his shop became a landmark — a place where sailors, locals, and travelers alike came to leave with more than just ink on their skin, but a memory and a story that lasted a lifetime. His chair saw generations pass through, each marked by his steady hand and enduring artistry.

Buddy’s dedication and influence were recognized in 1994 when he received the Lifetime Achievement Award from the National Tattoo Association, honoring his place among the greats of the tattoo world. To this day, his work and reputation stand as a reminder of an era when tattooing was equal parts grit, art, and tradition.
